Brass figurine of Panchamukhi Ganesha (2.4 × 1.5 × 1.5 cm)

Panchamukhi Ganesha is an unusual multi-faced form of one of the most famous deities in the Hindu tradition. The name comes from the words pancha, meaning "five," and mukha, meaning "face": Ganesha is depicted with five faces, united in a compact sculptural composition.
In various traditional interpretations, the five faces of Panchamukhi Ganesha are associated with the five sheaths of human existence—the pancha koshas—as well as the five elements and the five senses. Therefore, this image is symbolically associated with integrity, awareness of the various aspects of life, and inner balance.
The statuette is cast from brass and features a golden surface with darkened recesses. The contrast beautifully highlights the individual faces, headdresses, and the relief decoration of the base.
